Ingredients
- 2 oz silver/blanco tequila
- 2 oz fresh blood orange juice (about 1 large blood orange, juiced)
- 1 oz fresh lime juice (about 1 lime, juiced)
- 1 tsp light agave nectar or simple syrup
- 1 tiny drop pure vanilla extract (optional)
- 2 tsp kosher sea salt and/or Himalayan salt
- 1 tsp brown sugar (optional)
- Lime wedges
Instructions
- Mix the salt and sugar on a small plate.
- Run a wedge of lime around the top of the glass, then dip the top of the glass into the salt blend.
- Add ice cubes to the glass and set it aside.
- Fill a small cocktail shaker with ice, then add the tequila, freshly squeezed blood orange and lime juice, and agave nectar.
- Add a drop of vanilla extract if desired.
- Shake for 30 seconds, then strain the liquid into your glass.
- Garnish with a slice of blood orange, if desired.
