Festive Spiked Eggnog

Ingredients
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1.50 tbsp sugar
- 1 cup whole milk
- Pinch of coarse salt
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 oz bourbon
- 1/2 oz dark rum
- 1/4 oz cognac
- Freshly whipped cream, for serving
- Freshly grated nutmeg, for serving
Instructions
- Whisk egg yolks and sugar in a bowl until pale and thick.
- In a saucepan, bring milk and salt to a simmer, then slowly pour into the yolk mixture while whisking.
- Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat until thickened.
- Pour the mixture through a sieve into a bowl, let it cool, then add cream, bourbon, rum, and cognac. Refrigerate overnight.
- Whisk sugar and egg whites in a heatproof mixer bowl, then fold into the eggnog.
- Pour into glasses and top with whipped cream and nutmeg.
