Ingredients

  • 2 oz mezcal or silver tequila
  • 0.50 oz orange liquor
  • 2 oz apple cider
  • 2 oz no-sugar cranberry juice
  • 1 tbsp orange juice
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 0.25 cup ginger beer
  • apples, cinnamon, and/or rosemary for serving
  • 1 tbsp coarse sugar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped candied ginger pieces
  • 0.50 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Rim the glass by coating the rim with a mixture of coarse sugar, brown sugar, chopped ginger, and cinnamon.
  2. Fill the glass with ice.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, mix mezcal or tequila, apple cider, cranberry juice, and orange liquor. Shake well, then fill the shaker with ice and shake for 1 minute. Pour into the prepared glass.
  4. Top with ginger beer.
  5. Garnish with apple slices, cinnamon sticks, and rosemary. Optionally, light the cinnamon stick for a smoky effect.
  6. To make a Mocktail: omit the tequila and use 0.25 cup apple cider with 0.25 to 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar.
