Frosted Berry Bubbly
An exquisite split-colored Champagne cocktail with cranberry, wild strawberry liqueur, and a touch of vodka, garnished with sugared redcurrant stems.
Ingredients
- 10 fresh redcurrant stems
- 1 egg white, at room temperature (optional)
- 2 tablespoons caster sugar
- 5 fl oz cranberry juice
- 2 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 1/4 fl oz wild strawberry liqueur
- 1 fl oz vodka (Salvatore uses the Elit brand vodka)
- 3 fl oz chilled Champagne
Instructions
- Optionally, dip 3 redcurrant stems in egg white, coat with caster sugar, and set aside to dry.
- Muddle the remaining 7 redcurrant stems in a bowl to release the juice.
- Add cranberry juice, lemon juice, wild strawberry liqueur, and vodka to the bowl and stir well.
- Strain the mix through a sieve into a container and refrigerate.
- When ready to serve, divide the mix evenly between 1 champagne flute.
- Slowly top up with Champagne to keep both liquids separate in the glass.
- Decorate the glass with a sugared or plain redcurrant stem.
