Ingredients

  • 12 oz A&W Root Beer
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 3-4 maraschino cherries with stems
  • 2 tbsp Cool Whip or canned whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Pour the A&W Root Beer into a plastic bucket with a lid and freeze until it reaches a slushy consistency, which takes approximately 2 1/2 hours or more depending on the freezer.
  2. Frost the mugs by filling them with ice and cold water, then placing them in the freezer for 5-7 minutes. Empty the mugs and keep them in the freezer until ready to use.
  3. Scoop vanilla ice cream into each frosted mug.
  4. Gently pour the slushy root beer into each mug.
