Ingredients
- 2 tomatillos, husked, rinsed and coarsely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, peeled
- 1 small cucumber, peeled and coarsely chopped
- 1/2 jalapeño, seeded (or more if you want it spicier)
- 1-2 stalks of celery, coarsely chopped
- A handful of cilantro leaves
- 1 green onion, coarsely chopped
- 1/4 green bell pepper, seeded, coarsely chopped
- 2 tablespoons water
- Juice and zest of 1/2 lime
- 2 oz vodka (optional if making virgin Bloody Mary)
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- Pinch of chili powder (for garnish)
- Splash of Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Instructions
- In a blender or food processor, blend tomatillos, garlic, cucumber, jalapeño, celery, cilantro, green onion, bell pepper, and water until smooth.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer to remove the pulp and seeds.
- Add lime juice and zest, vodka (if using), and sea salt to the mixture. Chill.
- Combine chili powder and a pinch of sea salt, then use it to rim the serving glass.
- Splash the glass with a small drizzle of Worcestershire sauce.
- Pour in the Spicy Green Mary and enjoy!
