Ingredients

  • 2 tomatillos, husked, rinsed and coarsely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled
  • 1 small cucumber, peeled and coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 jalapeño, seeded (or more if you want it spicier)
  • 1-2 stalks of celery, coarsely chopped
  • A handful of cilantro leaves
  • 1 green onion, coarsely chopped
  • 1/4 green bell pepper, seeded, coarsely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Juice and zest of 1/2 lime
  • 2 oz vodka (optional if making virgin Bloody Mary)
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • Pinch of chili powder (for garnish)
  • Splash of Worcestershire sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender or food processor, blend tomatillos, garlic, cucumber, jalapeño, celery, cilantro, green onion, bell pepper, and water until smooth.
  2. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer to remove the pulp and seeds.
  3. Add lime juice and zest, vodka (if using), and sea salt to the mixture. Chill.
  4. Combine chili powder and a pinch of sea salt, then use it to rim the serving glass.
  5. Splash the glass with a small drizzle of Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Pour in the Spicy Green Mary and enjoy!
