Ingredients
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp water
- 4-5 fresh mint leaves
- 3 oz Sauvignon Blanc, chilled
- 2 oz fresh orange juice, chilled
- 0.75 oz Triple Sec or other orange-flavored liqueur
- 1/2 cup bite-size wedges of cantaloupe
- 1/4 cup bite-size wedges of seedless watermelon
- Ice
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine sugar, water, and torn mint leaves. Simmer over low heat for 1 minute, then let it cool to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Strain the syrup mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing on the mint to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the mint leaves and chill the syrup until ready to use.
- In a pitcher or large bowl, stir together the chilled wine, orange juice, Triple Sec, and mint simple syrup.
- Add the cantaloupe and watermelon wedges, then chill the mixture for at least 30 minutes and up to 4 hours.
- Pour the mixture over ice in a glass, and garnish with a mint leaf.
