Ingredients
- 3-4 fresh mint leaves
- 1.50 oz tequila (blanca)
- 1.50 oz fresh grapefruit juice
- 1/4 oz fresh lime juice
- 1/2 oz hibiscus simple syrup
- 1/4 cup fresh hibiscus flowers
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- grapefruit zest
- kosher salt
- lime wedge
- mint leaves
Instructions
- In a shaker, muddle the mint leaves with tequila.
- Add several ice cubes to the shaker and pour in the grapefruit juice, lime juice, and hibiscus simple syrup. Shake the mixture well.
- Rub the rim of a glass with a lime wedge and dip it into a mixture of grapefruit zest and kosher salt.
- Fill the glass with ice.
- Strain the margarita into the glass and garnish with a lime wedge and a mint leaf.
- In a small pot, bring water to a boil, then remove from heat and steep the hibiscus flowers for 5 minutes. Strain out the flowers and return the pot to the stove, adding sugar. Heat on medium until the sugar dissolves. Allow the syrup to cool before using.
